World Heart Day

The world heart day takes part on 29 th of september. The world heart day was founded to encourage us all to reduce our cardiovascular risk and promotes a heart-healthy planet for those around us.

The facts are clear.

Did you know that:

- over 17 Mio. people worldwide die because of stroke and heart deseases every year?

- that this is the world's leading cause of dead?

- that about 80% of premature deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD) could be avoided by controlling the main risk factors?

Risk factors for a cardiovascular desease are for example smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, familial handicap (cardiovascular diseases like stroke or heart-attack in young age of a near relative), as well as hereditarily dysfunctions of the lipid metabolism (for ex. cholesterol).

Some of this risk factors are enforced by obesity, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol.

A healthy nutrition and a healthy lifestyle with regular physical activity are indispensable to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
